Warner Friedman
Warner Friedman is an American modern contemporary landscape artist who uses shaped canvases to display vivid scenes set behind an architectural structure such as a fence, a gate, a window or a door. Friedman makes his paintings so realistic by building models and photographing the natural light falling on the scene.
Friedman was born in the Bronx, NY and spent his early career studying engineering. These skills can be seen in the mechanical drawings that he prepares before starting to paint. In his early 30s, he moved to the Berkshires and was inspired by the surrounding landscape. His seascapes scenes mostly come from Florida and Maine, where the painter visits family and friends.
Warner has won many awards including a Pollock Krasner and a Mass Cultural Council, and his work is included in many prestigious personal and corporate collections.
